radiator drain plug

i just received new winged plug for under radiator, it says everywhere i read its 3/8th pipe, it doesn't fit, plug to big! anyone have this issue mine is a 49'

only one size is used unless it has been modified

I remember mine being smaller to . Been few years but know was lot smaller . And did t see a modification?

they are all 3/8 NPT from the factory
