Quick hitch

Postby newcubowner » Tue Jul 27, 2021 10:37 pm

I just bought a restored 1961 Lo Boy with a Mott flail mower attached to a rear quick hitch. The mower drive shaft rubs on the hitch if I have to raise the mower for cutting high grass. I've tried turning the adjusting handles to raise and lower the hitch but I didn't see any difference. How do I get the driveshaft away from the hitch. Thanks in advance.

Do you mean the horizontal crossbar is contacting the PTO shaft or the diagonal?

There are special horizontal crossbars with offsets in them to clear the PTO shaft.

Where you'd find one, I don't know.

With "Mower Style 3" that would be an easy cut with a hack saw, fab a few parts, and weld it up again.

I have done that on a regular Cub, I would wonder
if I could on one of our lo boys. I might look closely at it in the AM, one has the offset diagonal piece.

Edit-buy the one offered, the way it should be with a Mott.
