Battery Box

Postby goxu1 » Thu Aug 05, 2021 4:20 pm

I've been reading about battery boxes
Just wondering if Norm Quay is still doing them.
I saw his name mentioned in older posts.

Yes, I was talking to him this afternoon, he’s working everyday. Early last year, he fell and injured his neck, was out of commission about all of last year. He’s been back at it most of this year and is looking and feeling surprisingly well. I always enjoy visiting with him at the shows in the area. By all means, give him a call, I’m sure he’ll be happy to fix you up with one of his battery boxes.

Norm is kinda old school, it might be better to call him on the phone.

Well , that sounds like exactly the opposite of the Steiner battery box that just turned up. Ive never seen such a pile of cheap crap in my whole life , for something that is "restoration quality"

I could not say tractor when I was 2 years old so I called it Err Err.

I loved this tractor then and I still love it now.

I have one from Norm Quay and one from TM and I liked the one from TM better. I found Norm a little hard to deal with plus the one form TM came with the rubber insulation matt which Norm's did not.

If I were you, I'd be sending those pictures (and more if you have them) to Steiner's and politely questioning their quality control measures. I'd emphasize just how disappointed I was in their product and that I'll have to go elsewhere for tractor parts. If they're a reputable business, which I think they are, they'll do something about it.

Just a suggestion. Sorry it was shipped half way around the world to you in that condition. They could of just had it sent directly from China to Australia and saved you a boatload.

I've already sent them a 10 page PDF file of all the photos
The best one was a pic of the battery box and the tool box together.
One was red and the other was a pinkish red
No reply from them yet
