It Steers!

Postby RogerW » Tue Oct 19, 2021 5:11 pm

Just got done putting needle thrust bearings on the spindles of my 53. What a difference it makes, especially with the snow blade on the front.
Also put the rear blade and chains on, so I'm ready for the snow! I got the bearings from McMaster-Carr and the service was great. Ordered them yesterday and they arrived today,. I am in Ia, so not that far away. Should have done this years ago.

Thanks for the part numbers. The other thing I was thinking about doing was cutting a bike tube and clamping it on the top to help keeping the dirt out of the bearings.

They seem to fit up under the flange pretty well, so if on keeps it greased I don' think dirt will be a problem, at least for the little I use it in the dirt.
