Cultivator set

Postby Sterff89 » Sun Dec 05, 2021 5:41 pm

I plan on attending an auction this coming Friday where there is a set of cultivators for a cub. What would you guys pay for these? I realize condition and if I get into some kind of bidding war changes thing. I gave $6o for a set for a Super A but, they look they were submerged in the ocean for ten years. I was thinking of going up to $250 but, I haven't laid my hands on them yet either. I'm mostly interested in the mounting frames. I have a fair amount of parts from my two A's which should fit the frames.

Pretty nice set, but looks like it’s missing the rear lift rods and attaching rock shaft rod. I’m not much of a spring shank fan, but you may be. 250-300 sounds about right fir my area, don’t know about yours

I noticed a few pieces might be missing but, Ill know more when I see them. I've only tried spring shanks behind my Super A's, as I have the shank/standard style on the front section. I do have alot of rocks in my area so I don't know if one type does better than the other.

If that takes the same rockshaft rod as a spring trip cultivator, I might have a spare laying around

Here In Northeast Pa, it's hard to get 200. For a set of front and rear. Last set I bought for 35.00 at an auction, and they had shields with them.
LOCATION has alot to do with price!

Location, people at the sale, and DEEP pockets are the biggest problem. For the stuff in the picture $25. to $50. tops.
Spring shanks wont take out weeds, shovels will and shovels work better in rocky ground.
