TM doesn’t list the cable type ground on their website any more. You might give Ron at TM a call. They may still have a few in stock.

Hi,
I have a 6 volt ground cable that I bought at IH, back when it was IH, it is number 2 cable, like the cable going from the battery to the starter.
It has black insulation, like the battery to starter cable Case IH was selling in the past, I haven't bought one lately.
It has no shrink wrap.

There is info about it at your other post. Jim B. wrote the length in the 4th post down the 1st page.

I made a post with info, there is a pic of it in the 1965 Cub and LoBoy operator's manual, I posted it in the post. It looks the same as the pic in the post.

Below is your other post.

If you have a 6 volt battery in the battery box, you can measure where the cable would be, and see the overall length.
The 6 volt battery faces with the positive post ahead in the box.

The companies making original looking battery cables put on a cloth cover, I guess.
Below is a listing at TM Tractor for the 6 volt battery to starter cable. You can look at the pics of the covering. I don't know if you are using this style or not. :)

This cable is on my 57. The overall length is 10 inches. The battery connector has been changed from the original. The lug on the opposite end is copper. The cable is not marked, but appears to be #2. No heat shrink on either end. I believe this cable to be original, with the exception of the battery connector. Click to enlarge.

You can look in the PDF Manuals section at the Parts Catalog that covers the 57 Cub. That will confirm that the original ground was a cable, not a strap.

There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Hi,
I posted info from the Cub parts manual at my other post, which you can get to in my post above.

Here are the pages below. The ground cable is number 8 in the pic.
On the 2nd page it calls it a cable in the description.
I bought one of them in the past from IH, before it was Case IH, it is a cable.
I saw a 1955 Cub with the cable there also.
Look closely at the parts pic, you can probably see it better on a computer that has a screen bigger than a phone. :)

Here is one that I believe to be an original. Because it is old/cold it didn't want to straighten easily. So I took the picture as it was. If it were to be straightened with the left end brought up to the measuring tape, the center of the bolt hole would align with the end of the tape. That is, the center-to-center length is 8-1/2 inches, exactly as the book says.
