First time plowing snow with the Cub

Postby Greenthumbfarms » Thu Feb 17, 2022 10:55 pm

Now that the 1950 Cub is up and running I wanted to play in the snow. The tractor has the power angle added (thnk you to everyone who posted threads about how to do it) and I did the Ricky Racer blade trip modification.
This is the first time I have pushed snow with a Cub, and really the first time I've gotten seat time on Georgette.
The plow worked really nice, but the tractor will need some R&R before next winter. It was running a little lean, so I had to have the choke pulled about 1/3 of the way out. I have confirmed that the lever and butterfly are positioned correctly.
We had about 6 inches of snow, but the tractor plowed nicely with no chains and two sets of weights on the rear.
I use the tractor to plow the alley behind the house and if the city plow hasn't been by, I make a few swipes up to the main road. My 1450 Cub Cadet does the driveway...it is only 20x20.

Your lucky!

We just had 2 days in the 50's, everything meltin and almost a whole day of rain Thursday that turned to snow!

26° for a high tomorrow (Friday), I might need ice skates to make it out to the barn without falling down!

:(

Andy, I can’t tell from your pic but covering the grill, to make the engine run warmer, will help considerably with your lean condition.

I'll get some cardboard out. The tractor lives in a heated garage, itnsure helps with starting in the cold
