Rear centers were painted on the tractor when it was painted. Therefore, the lug bolts would be red. Front rims were not on the tractor when painted. Therefore, the lug bolts would be unlikely to be red. Manifold and exhaust pipe were on the tractor when painted. Therefore, not likely to be painted black. Original amp gauge bezel was chrome, not black. Highly suspect, in my mind.

Edit: Changed rear rims to centers, which was my original intention.

The owner states----The tires are original to the tractor. This tractor continues to amaze me every time i play with it. I traced the history, all the way back, to the original owner. Apparently, the original owner bought it for a toy, and kept in a climate controlled garage, attached to his home. His best friend, who ended up buying the tractor from his wife, about 10 years, after his passing, said that the original owner had it touched up, every once in a while, and used it in shows and parades. I have the original owners manual with delivery report

The owner was looking for a new ammeter------he commented Does anyone know where i can get a NOS, original, amp gauge for my '56 Cub, part # 360053R91 ? Mine still works very good, but i would like to find a new one, that says "Rochester Mfg., Co., Inc. . I have looked, everywhere, with nothing coming up, at all. Most of the originals have stopped working and have been replaced. If you have, an original, on your Farmall, can you take a picture of it, and share it with the group? You can see, mine, in the picture; it is a bit rusty, and a bit cloudy, so i would like to find, a NOS to replace it. The lines on the face of the gauge is WD-40; i am trying to preserve everything on this tractor. If you know where i can find one, i would, surely, appreciate knowing. Thanks, everybody!

Digging further i found this comment Hi Everybody! I just want to share with you what the Lord blessed me with this week! A '56 Farmall Cub with very low hours, in great condition. Please excuse my enthusiasm in the video; i was a bit excited, at the time. I did notice that parts of the tractor have been painted over, slightly, seemingly, with a very light coat...

I think one of the best indicators for a low hour early cub is the original wire braid and seal on the governor. How many cubs do you see with them intact.

I could not say tractor when I was 2 years old so I called it Err Err.

I loved this tractor then and I still love it now.

Those tires sure do look new. You would think they would be dry rotted by now.

Its a fine looking tractor. Most of you are better judges of what is original than I am, but it looks pretty legit to me, minus the things mentioned. I could see where someone who was fussy about the exhaust might paint that black, or maybe touch up some things here and there.

Survivor stuff shows up all the time, and given that the masses do not take very good care of their toys, most people have trouble accepting that some one could keep their things largely unblemished for decades.

But the exhaust on the tractor when assembled would be red since it wall was sprayed at once.

I have a couple that the clutch pedal surfaces are not even worn halfway through yet!
