Hey Everyone, I'm hoping this is my final post on this specific subject. I was able to start my Cub and it runs beautifully! Thank you all for your help! Please see the photo. This is my 1948 Cub. It still has a 6-Volt set up. I might convert it to 12-Volt in the future, but for right now I'm content.

Hi,
The Cub looks good in your picture.
If you want the serial number plate to look close to new without removing it, member tst sells decals that go on the plate that is there. The decal has the original wording.
The decal is made so the place where the numbers are stamped in the plate shows through, so the numbers are visible.
I don't have a pic of his decal for a 1948 Cub.
IH changed the style of the plates over the years.
You can send him a message and he will probably send you info about it.
Below is a listing at TM Tractor for a new plate like was used in 1948, you can see how they originally were.
