I cut about 12 acres to a pasture height 6-8" with a cub a bell mower and two pull-behind "rough cut" mower decks It takes about 2- 2.5 hours every two weeks. It is very doable with a cub and the right setup

To run a real bush hog style deck you will need a 540 PTO and more HP - at least an A-140 with ~20 HP

I do not know a lot about ACs but I do think they do have nice lines. I think it is easier to have several tractors set up with different attachments than to spend time switching things around and on and off. If you " standardize" and get multiple tractors it will be easier with CUbs as more were made.

Sounds like a lot of solid advice here. I do a little mowing with one of my Cubs, even though it's not our property, we have an easement thought it, and it looks nice being mowed in the summer.

But recently, a friend bought a piece of ground just down the road. About a third of it is flat, which is mighty scarce here in the foothills of the Appalachians. He had it brush hogged, and a couple months later came up for a visit. I had grown about 18" high, and THICK. I had driven the Cub down to chat with him, and asked him if he'd like me to mow it. Well, the old '59 Cub and Danco C2 did the job, but it was a chore. The tractor got good and hot and I could tell it was pretty much at capacity.

My 48 has a belly mower with brush hog swingblades. I wouldn't want to be swapping it out though for running another implement set up.

Depends on soil type and contents as to ground breaking. Ideally expanding garden area each year by tilling in amendments (lime ect. per soil tests) would be my idea of a good time.
I drag weeds to death (mostly) and don't go very deep where I have a food plot for deer. The worst soil condition on my hunting property there before I stated doing so years ago. Go too deep and have sandier soil.
Elsewhere it's only mowing.

A Cub can certainly do a lot. But time and limits apply like they do with any tractor per scale and design and implement.
They were built for small farms to replace single draft animals. (My take on what I've read). Consider it's use accordingly.

BUSH HOG made a Model 412 belly type mower that could be run with IH/CUB/100-140/AC B tractors. Some of them are still available (used). I have one and like it for rough cutting. Does a decent job as a lawn cut mower also.

I would mostly just use it for a garden, less than 1 acre. If it'll work the cub to death I have other means of bush hogging the areas I need cut. So for me i suppose I will just stick using it for plowing, disking, and cultivation etc.

You'll be better off doing that. You can't beat a Cub in the garden; matter of fact I cultivate about 2.5 acres with mine every year. Sure, it's slower than a 2-row cultivator but you don't get a stiff neck after a day's work. I'd avoid the Allis if I were you. They really didn't have a good reputation around these parts. Sorta of a "too big for small stuff and to small for anything else" problem best I can understand.
