Electrolysis process
I want to put some parts in my electrolysis tank that has brass bushings. Will the electrolysis process destroy the bushings? I use copper wire to support parts in the tank. It does not appear to affect the copper wire. Just curious if brass would be different.

Re: Electrolysis process
In my experience, electrolysis will cause brass to turn black, but the black film is easily removed (via a light touch with a brass wire wheel), with no apparent damage to the brass part itself. But, being cautious, maybe you should run a "scrap" brass bushing or part through the e-tank and see what happens first. Just my .02...

Re: Electrolysis process
Some brass bushings absorb and retian lubricant/oil. Suggest drying out the bushing and then re-oiling it.Floater wrote:But, being cautious, maybe you should run a "scrap" brass bushing or part through the e-tank and see what happens first.
I have an excuse. CRS.
