It might show up, keep looking, or maybe find a similar tractor and build a tribute tractor to your Grand Dad.
Most any Square hood cub, could be painted up, and decals installed to resemble the lost tractor. Probably not the same, but better than not having one at all.
Good luck with what ever you do.

Thanks for the reply. I’ve been looking for a “replacement” but I’d definitely like to stay between 75-79 and a red. I found a nice 78 but it’s yellow. I will have one again, but I’m hoping to lick into my grandfathers at some point. I’d be happy just to speak with the owner.

I was just out of the military and really didn’t put much thought into it at the time. My grandfather was letting it go because it had pretty much sat since the tobacco buy out. We only used it to move a wagon once in awhile after tobacco went out. That picture is all original, no touch ups, no nothing. It’s a good one. Hopefully I’ll get the chance to at least check it out again one day.

I know how you feel. I was lucky enough to end up with my grandfather's cub after saying I didn't want it when I was around 18. My second cousin got it. Luckily he hadn't gotten rid of it and I went to see him and he still had it and gave it back to me. This meant the world to me.

I said they could sell his old truck then as well. I could of just had it if I said so. I was young and it was just an old farm truck. I'd do whatever I could to have that truck again today. I had a chance to buy it after college from about the second or third owner after it was sold but I passed cause I thought it was too much money. I think all the time I wish i had that truck.

Good luck in your quest and I know how much that tractor means to you.

Yessir, I’d love to have it back. Hoping to at least locate it and speak with the current owner. Thanks!!
