sticking carburetor needle valve

I have been fighting sticking carburetor needle valve(s) on a couple of aftermarket carburetors. Yes, both have the viton tip needle valve. Is there anything I can do get them to drop properly?

One of the aftermarket carburetor has a brass float and the vent hole was drilled. Should I consider replacing the viton tip needle with a steel needle & seat from one of our vendors or would that be a bad idea?

It might or might not fit. The seat threads could be different.
