Took these off a 57 cub last week and they're as hard as a rock. I pulled it inside and it felt like I was running on bulldozer tracks. Brand name is Davis, I'd seen this tread in larger tires before but not that brand. Thought they were pretty neat so I kept them. Pretty rotted on the sides but still holding air.

Re: Older type tires
Replace a road tire on a trailer about 3 weeks ago. Montgomery Ward, well worn, weather checked, still holding air. Didn't want a flat on the highway.
Local tire shop refused to warrant the tire since Montgomery Ward went out of business about 10 or 15 years ago.

I replaced a ser of Sears Roadmasters for a guy over the winter. Sears discontinued that tire line in 1994

I didn't buy the tire from Montgomery Wards. Don't know where the tire came from.Jim Becker wrote:How about 21?Eugene wrote:. . . Montgomery Ward went out of business about 10 or 15 years ago.
It was a good tire. If I had been using it on the acreage it would still be on the trailer. I was using the trailer to haul frequent loads of broken concrete to the acreage ditch.

I believe that was the original style tread. Probably last a long time if you put new tubes in them and run them.

I had a pair similar to those on an Allis C. Kinda reminded me of Oliver Douglas on green acres bouncing up and down

There designed to run with a tube so as long as the outer casing is intact enough to not let the tube get punctured by every stick or thorn they will hold air.
