Wiring replacement for 1957

Postby JBJohnson » Mon Sep 05, 2022 9:10 am

I need to replace the wiring harness on my 1957 working Cub. The tractor has been converted to 12 volt system at some point prior to my owning it. How do I know which replacement harness to buy as the original parts would not work I'm thinking :help: ? I have a alternator and self contained resister coil on this tractor. I just want to keep the replacement as simple as possible as I am no DC electrician. Desperate in Ohio. JBJohnson.

Call John Brillman or Porch Electric.

If you have an existing harness it doesn’t take much to recreate it a few lengths of wire from Home Depot and some pinch connectors and a roll of electric tape and you could easily copy your harness .

We make wire harnesses at work but we do not use the same wire sizes. wire protectors and connectors as used on the cub. I can not buy parts and make the harness to the quality and for the cost as the ones from https://www.brillman.com.

When you only have 9 horsepower you need to know the names of all of the ponies!

Call either of the above suppliers and tell them what you have, they’ll build you a suitable harness.

I recently put a brillman harness onto my 52 cub and will say it is excellent quality. Good installation instructions and wire labeling.

My old harness was in rough shape so full replacement was the only option.
