Radiator

Postby Norbert62 » Mon Oct 10, 2022 9:35 pm

Hello, I have a 1951 Farmall Cub that has a heating problem. Does anyone know what the radiator OEM Part number is or what the replacement part number might be? Thanks.

Have you tried flushing the radiator & engine per the manual?

It it is not leaking I would try a few thing before replacing the radiator.

ask dale said do a flush. remove the hose lower tube going into the block and flush into the bolster and the block. Try to go forward in the block a lot of rust will collect around cylinders 1 and 2.

I have never done this but after the flush consider running a lestoil mixture for a week or town http://farmallcub.com/phpBB2/viewtopic. ... il#p858094

You didn’t say what it is doing, but If it is spurting antifreeze out the overflow, you could be over filling it. I just put enough in to cover the tubes. The antifreeze as it gets hot will expand and will be pushed out the overflow. You have to look in the neck sideways with a flash light to see in there.

I agree with John, pushing out some coolant and steaming used to be normal operation. These were non-pressurized thermo siphon systems, folks now days aren’t accustomed to the older stuff.
