Ammeter

Postby CurtisLee » Sun Jan 15, 2023 10:04 am

This has no doubt been addressed here before but I couldn’t find it. My new ammeter has the terminals, on the back, marked pos and neg. Since I have a positive ground on my 48 battery, should I connect the lead from the battery/starter to the neg terminal?

The diagram on page 59 of the '47 user manual shows the + on the ammeter is connected to the relay and the generator.

Short answer is yes as Phil indicates. Below is a simple wiring diagram for early cubs with generator and cutout relay.
