Not sure what is driving this belly mower
I got the his cub and can’t find any information on what mower this is or where to get parts. Mainly I need to fix the u joint, but want to know more if I need to fix other stuff. Anyone have any ideas? Running out of ideas on what to google.

No help to ID the mower but you can probably match up a u joint at a good auto parts store, McMaster Carr or WW Granger. JMHO Good Luck. Stan

Re: Not sure what is driving this belly mower
Wow. Not seen one like it.
May be ID under/on the belt pulley cover on mower deck.
Mower deck spindles may be the only thing you need to identify. Bearings, races, belt, mower blades, should be identifiable and available from auto parts store or the blades a tractor dealership.

I have an excuse. CRS.

Re: Not sure what is driving this belly mower
Looks to me like it's complete... Driven by the angle drive to the pulley then a belt to the front spindle.
Guess since the angle drive is 90° to its normal mounting, the PO added the 90° fill plug.

Re: Not sure what is driving this belly mower
Do you have a picture you can post of where that drive shaft goes down to the pulley under the drawbar?
Does it work?

Re: Not sure what is driving this belly mower
Do you have a clutch and joint type shop nearby? They would be able to fix you up with the u-joints. Magnum, was yours set up like this one? I’ve never seen one of them.

Re: Not sure what is driving this belly mower
The universal joint is most likely a common Weasler 6-series, available at Tractor Supply, any implement dealer or online.

almost looks like the mower was from another tractor and was rigged for your cub. Cool mower though.
