Fat hitch help

Postby BOB K. » Wed Apr 19, 2023 9:43 pm

Can anyone tell me what pieces I need to complete the fast hitch in the picture. I do not need it as I have no fast hitch implements. What is it worth to sell it the way it is? Thanks

Hi,
The pull bar, pull bar support, diagonal link, and leveling crank, at the left rear, are not there in your picture. I'm not sure if something else is gone.
Below is a page from the 1965 Cub operator's manual, showing a Fast Hitch.
Several parts of it are named there.

In addition to what Glen mentioned, the pull bar extension, numerous pins, the depth adjusting knob and pin and the trunnion bushing are missing. In my opinion, it’s worth less than $100, as is, due to the difficulty and cost of making it complete.

What parts you have are for the late model fast hitch for a regular Cub, not a loboy. The bail and depth adjuster go together. I'm pretty sure all the other parts stayed the same when the design was changed.
Quick look on eBay and parts are going for stupid money and some are not even correctly identified or are homemade.
For someone that has a FH, your parts could be spares. I wouldn't scrap them.
For example, Burch Stores has an early style bail for sale, $79.95.

You have some desirable parts. Depth adjuster, helper spring and lift rod would sell well I believe. If you decide to part it out. If you weren’t so far away, I’d buy the lift rod myself. But if you want to complete it, I would think it would be cheaper to find the parts than to buy a complete unit. Just may not happen quickly finding the parts.
I do believe I can see the trunnion installed in the rockshaft, is it not?

Thank guys, It is from my 65 Cub that I bought. I will look around for the rest. Think $300 is to much for what is there?

That depends on who is looking to buy and what parts they are looking for.
A complete FH can be had for $400-$600 depending on condition and demand.
