Model & color clarification

Postby bobbylindholm » Sat May 06, 2023 10:59 am

I have a 1960 cub lo boy. I’m just starting out as we just pulled it from the barn. It’s been in there 14 years. How do I determine the model number?

A 1960 Cub Loboy would not have a model number. They are simply a Loboy.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

You can look up the year using the serial number if it still has a serial tag!

Welcome to the forum. After your second post you and access the manuals folder at the Quick links tab, top left corner of this page, click on pdf manuals. Owners and Operators manuals, parts lists, and a lot of other information is there. To express the model a bit differently, the cub series is generally referred to as Farmall Cub or FCub, LoBoy, and Numbered series (154, 185 and 184). FCubs and LoBoys were painted red in the beginning and changed to yellow and white. Numbered series were yellow and white then changed to red for the last of the series. FCubs and LoBoys were offset drive and Numbered series were centered drive. JMHO Stan

It looks like the poster has already established the year as a 1960 and the model as a Loboy. A numbered series would not have come around until 1968. A serial number tag will not give him anymore info than he already knows.

As of August 1960, the standard color for the Lo-Boy was changed to all yellow.
