Generator Question

Postby Chooch » Thu Jun 29, 2023 9:20 am

My cub generator isn't working.

Does the light switch provide field voltage on the generator?

Thanks!

if you have a early cub with a cut out relay the voltage is controlled by the light switch, here is a flow chart for a cutout relay system

Hi,
The Cub has to have the 4 position charge and light switch, for the generator to work as it originally does.
Your older posts say you have a 1948 Cub.
Below is a pic of the rear of the switch, and the wiring diagram for Cubs before serial number 115403.
The diagram shows the F wire from the gen connects to the resistor at the lower part of the switch.
