You need the drive gear, tachometer cable drive adapter, retainer bracket, tachometer cable and then finally tachometer mounting bracket and breeze clamp that holds the tachometer to the mounting bracket.

So it a bit more than just the tachometer. A full description and part numbers can be found in the parts list for a Farmall Cub.

Hi,
There was a part of the post on page 1 of this post from about 2016, it was removed after I wrote, that's why I wrote it was an older post on page 1.
You didn't say what year Cub you have.
Below is the page from the Cub parts manual showing the tachometer.
If it is the original way, the hole under the cover is open, and the drive gear for the tach is back in the hole. There are no parts shown below in the hole, you have to buy all the parts of the tach to use the tach.
Numbers 10, 11, and 13 in the parts pic go in the hole.
http://www.farmallcub.info/manuals/cub_ ... 011-02.jpg

You need longer screws to hold the drive gear housing onto the Battery Ignition unit housing. The size is shown at the info for number 9 in the parts page.
You may need to remove the Battery Ignition unit to put in the screw toward the engine.
Turn the engine to number 1 cylinder TDC first, so you don't lose the timing.

Below is a page from the 1965 Cub operator's manual showing the tach drive at the Battery Ignition unit.

Thanks Glen!

It’s 57 Loboy This tach install is going to take some time because the tach delivery time period is October 30- November 7  India is a long way away . I’ll update progress in my Cub revitalization thread :tractor:

I ordered something from India, a while back. It too had a very long projected ship time, I was pretty surprised when it showed up about 2 weeks early. Maybe you’ll get lucky that way.
