Don't you just love that? The initial admiration. Done it many times...usually can't wait to get home from work to check out the new toy. Sometimes, the luster dims quickly, though. However, after four years my Loboy still is one of my favorite acquisitons ever. Sure is fun to mow the front Lawn with a vintage Cub when everyone else is using MTD's, Deere's, and Kew-botas--lots of folks wave when driving by. And mowing the field out back really gives me time to relax and unwind--and I don't have to wear sound-protection, either--the Cub is so much more quiet and smooth than a single-cylinder air-cooled.
Welcome to the forum, Steel! And, if I might suggest: Do some more research before making the 12v switch. You may just find you're happy with the 6v.
