Hi All,
I need help with the correct position of the front counter shaft bearing.
I removed it for inspection and now I'm not sure if I have it in the correct position.
Looking at the diagram in the parts manual it shows it fits on the outside of the counter shaft bearing retainer.
When I install it this way, I have about 1/4" of play in and out with the nut tight.
Is this correct to have this much play?
Also, to make things more confusing I have what is suppose to be the same manual on C/D that shows the bearing on the inside of the retainer.
I guess I try putting it together that way and see what it looks like.
Any thoughts would be appreciated!!
Ron

Tansmission help
UPDATE!!
I tried it the way the C/D manual shows and there was no way that it would work that way.
So,,,, I put it back the other way and this time it fit perfect!!
I guess the first time I did this the bearing wasn't fully seated.
It sure looked like it was!!
Thanks,
Ron
