Cub Tug Official Results

Postby lildog » Sun Jul 17, 2011 8:12 pm

The Cub Tug was run in four heats of 15-17 drivers each. Each unique driver-tractor combination was allowed to pull only once, though each person could compete on up to two tractors. Multiple drivers were allowed to enter on the same tractor. Based on practice pulls, the sled crew set full pull at 250'. The five drivers with the longest pulls in each heat advanced to the pull-off round.

For the pull-off round, based on track conditions and the performance in the latter two heats, the sled crew re-set full pull at 230'. If no one achieved a full pull, the longest distance would win. If only one driver got a full pull, that driver would win. We had four full pulls in that round, so those four advanced to a floating pull-off, with the longest distance winning. The sled was re-set to be tougher for the final round, so those distances were significantly shorter.

A driver could be disqualified for running on a red flag or for driving out of bounds

Here are the complete results.
FP = Full Pull
DQ = Disqualification
WD = Driver withdrew
Red text = Advanced to next round

Sorry, but the formatting is the best I could do.

Pretty impressive record-keeping, John. Thanks for doing this and making it public so we can all see how we did. It adds to the fun!

Looks like I signed up for the wrong heat! :lol: Either way I'm thrilled with 180' 3" after last year.

I do feel bad for disappointing Ed by working my way up to an average pull, and ruining his trip. I offered to pay his gas money to get back home, I felt so bad! ;)

John, I don't think I ever heard the results from the tractor games. Are those results posted somewhere? Thanks!

I cried all the way home! Jason, if you still feel bad, you can send me a check! (After those replacement trailer tires, I don't think that will happen!) Ed

Jason, don't believe a word Ed tells you. After it was all said and done, I saw him walking through the camping area like this, :{_}: . Something tells me he was secretly hoping you would do better this year! :D

Bill, you've gone to the fridge, a few times too many. Now, you're seeing things! Ed

Unfortunately, I didn't record them. I know my cousins Angie and Odell Chambers won most of the ribbons. Dad and I got second place in the blindfold race and Dad won the slow race.

Stan - yes. There were a few lo-boys in the mix.
