Did some heavy lifting today and an eye-examine as I ready the Blue Ribbon Service Manual GSS-1012 - After a post here and a call to Cecil - I think I've got everything routed to the correct terminals. The new rotor and distributor cap arrived today. Still have to order the dimmer coil - always wondered in the 1960's what D & B meant has there seemed to be no difference. Sure enough there never will be without the dimmer coil - it was NEVER there.

Here's the new wiring harness from Brillman - Learned today from this forum and from a call to Cecil that wiring harnesses never come with the Voltage Reg. (F) to Generator (F) wire. I've contacted Brillman to see if I can get a short length of woven wire to make this piece - I really wonder why they do not. Anyway - here's some pix of the harness - shout out if you see anything wrong....Yes I know they are not were they belong yet - :D :D :D :D :D

I'm guessing you'll be able to tell by this picture I'm getting ready to test run Rex'48 - Perhaps this evening. :D :D :D :D

Have to polarize the generator, prime the oil pump and spin it up on 12V first time w/o spark plugs in to get oil pressure up fast the first time as advised by an experienced member of this forum. Not too worried over the starter I've been starting the Farmall H with a 12v batter for 20 years :D.

:thanx: to all - Ken

Ken what 12v battery are you using? the picture is blurry so I can't read the tag, my 12v is too tall for me to close the battery box :(

Scott,

For your next 12 volt battery buy a Group 26R and it should fit right in. For the 6 volt battery use Group 19L or Group 1.

Hi everyone - I missed it for months and still missed it - A person on Facebook noticed - I had it grounded to the NEGATIVE terminal - that has since been corrected.

I was just going to JUMP it with a 12v battery - so it spun up faster to get OIL Pressure Faster. Because my battery was so new and fully charged I spun it up with the 6V with the plugs out. Oil pressure came up to this in 26 seconds.

Well everyone here is Rex'48 running again at last. Here's how the day went.

1. Played with the wires till I got it right or mostly right - It's not charging - but it starts.
2. It popped and sputtered and gas ran all over the place out of the choke side of the carburetor - what's a man to do?
3. Pulled the plugs - all kinds of gas in there
4. The answer is Call Cecil :D
5. Checked to see the float wasn't stuck
6 Then pulled the #1 plug - Set the engine to TDC
7. Pulled the distributor cap and here is what I found - Does anything look wrong to you? Well sure enough that is what 180 degrees out looks like.
