Re: 1948 Cub Retirement Project
Didn't do too much today, painted some of the small parts that I cleaned up earlier. Waiting for the steering housing seal to arrive so that I can install the bolster and the steering.

Re: 1948 Cub Retirement Project
Looking good! Be careful with that steering housing seal paying special attention to the condition of the shaft area that the seal will run on. After finishing mine and driving the tractor for 1.1 hours I found that I have a seal leak of maybe a drop per day. Annoying.

Re: 1948 Cub Retirement Project
looks like I will be waiting more than the normal 3 days for parts, with half of Maine without power. I hope they all are doing ok otherwise.

Re: 1948 Cub Retirement Project
seal came in today so I pressed that in and assembled the bolster and steering housing. Painted it and when it was dry I set it into place.

That looks really nice. I’ll follow along as I want to do the same thing to mine, I mean my son’s.

Re: 1948 Cub Retirement Project
thank you, I'm hoping to get alot done on it this weekend, it's going to be real cold here the next couple of days, so I plan on just hibernating in the garage with my cub.
