1949 Cub, Australia

Postby jastusa » Mon Sep 09, 2019 12:25 am

Hi all,

Here are some pics when I picked up a Cub back in Nov 2018, loaded via some tynes on the front a former logging tractor, and then at home in front of my shed, Kyneton, Victoria, Australia.

Thus far, I have converted to 12v (the tractor had virtually no wiring with it, so now has a new alternator, coil etc), rebuilt both the distributor and governor, and have also replaced the carby, all due to water ingress.

I am hoping to attempt a start of the Cub this coming weekend, noting I had attempted once before and seemed to have major timing issues, so after hitting the manuals from this site, I hopefully now have it sorted (keeping in mind I wouldn't at any stretch call myself a mechanic!).

Fingers crossed. cheers, Jason.

You guys in other side of the globe are more similar to us, than somebody standing next to us- often. That was really cool how you could lift the tractor with those long forks. Had to be just right and I'm certain you will be pleased. Everything is different there but Australia is huge so it is different at other places. These tractors will work near the same as before but you said that you aren't a mechanic, you will be.
