I'm curious why you plant your seed potatoes whole instead of cutting them into pieces.

Hi Don,
I do cut the potatoes larger than my hand if they have multiple eyes sprouting. The potato seed this year was small and I could generally grab 3 or 4 seed potatoes in one hand, especially the red pontiac ones in this video. 50 pounds of red pontiacs planted five 75 foot rows with about 5-7 pounds left over. I ended up planting 27 rows at 75 feet of various potato varieties and have no more room for potatoes prepared. If I had cut the all the potatoes, I would have had enough for more than 40 rows. (We sell a variety of vegetables at our farm stand.) Check out my facebook page for an overview (2013 Image) of my gardens - https://www.facebook.com/pages/Our-Pass ... 5956626492
Did that answer your question? Thanks for your interest, -Tom
