Pawpaw's Cub

Postby whtwolf97 » Tue Jun 16, 2015 5:35 pm

Cub.jpg

This is my 1949 Cub. It was my Pawpaw's and, about a month ago, my mom and my uncles said I could have it. He bought it in 1953. My mom also gave me the original bill of sale, where he paid 875.00 for it and a new set of cultivators. He used it up until a few years before he passed away in 1999. Since then it has only been started 1 time, about 3 years ago. It is currently not running but I am working on it and hopefully soon I will see it running. I got all the implements for it also, the cultivators, disc plow and the sickle mower. I will keep you posted on my progress. Thanks for looking and God bless.

Congratulations on getting your Pawpaw's Cub, that will make it really special when you get it going and using it. There is a wealth of information available here, if you don't see it... just ask! The FAQ's may help get you going (be sure to prime the oil pump if it has been sitting for 3 years before you try to start it  )

Welcome to the forum,
David

What a great story! Welcome to the forum!

Good to hear you inherited the Cub and implements. If you have any specific questions, start a new thread over in the Farmall Cub section of the forum.

Here's a good primer located in the How To Forum: http://www.farmallcub.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=145&t=16305
And don't forget the PDF Manuals and Rudi's Manuals as resources to download Service Books, Owner's Manuals, etc. (located in the links listed across top of screen in blue band)

Again, welcome! :coffee:

Thanks for all the good info. I am not planning on fully restoring it right now, maybe a few years down the road, but I would like to get it to the point I can use it as a work tractor. Just to be able to here it run again would be great! Thanks again

I like it! Its nice to know the history and have a family connection. I'm sure you'll have it up and running soon. Good luck!
