This is my 1970 Cub Cadet 73 with optional fenders.
I purchased this tractor non-running last year. The previous owner said that it had been sitting for 15+ years but the engine was loose and the tractor looked decent so it followed me home.
With fresh gas, a replacement gas tank, spark plug and adjusting to the governor, it started, ran and drove great. I then got the mower deck spindles free, sharpened the blades and have been cutting my grass at home all summer this year. It's become one of my favorite Cadets quickly!

Re: Cub Cadet 73
Hey Bob...I'm real partial to Cub Cadet Model 73's and yours is NEAT
As far as I'm concerned the Model 73 is one of the most desirable Cadets of all (the last year that the 7 hp Kohler was used by IH)
Mine was not in as nice shape as yours when I got it at JP's 1st Cub-A-Rama, however now it's just the way I want it
That little 7 hp Kohler engine teamed up with the direct drive and super IH tranny & rearend make the Model 73 a real workhorse that'll last forever
ENJOY yours Bob
