So very sorry to hear this. Been talking with Rudi via the net since about 2003. Also talked with him by phone several times to solve a problem of mine or his. Not a nicer person anywhere. Surely will be missed, but never forgotten! My condolences to Em and the rest of his family. Must be a great CubFest going on with Rudi joining the other members who have gone on before! RIP Rudi, may your rows always be straight and your tank full!

I noodled around a bit this evening and found Rudi's obituary in his local paper. It was in French so I had to find a conversion program. I have copied and pasted it here:

At the hospital in Moncton, on Friday, March 3, 2017, at the age of 62, died Rudi Saueracker, he lived in Dieppe.
Born and baptized in Timmins, ON, he was the son of Doris (née Rivers) and the late Heinrich Saueracker.
He is survived by his mother, Doris of Ottawa; His wife, Emilie LeBlanc; Her children: Duane of Moncton, Sabrina (Stéphane) Beaulieu of Gibbons, AB, Samantha and Amanda, both of Moncton and Kristina of Dieppe; His sister, Cristel of Ottawa; His brothers: Randy (Laura) of Edmonton and Leonard of Ottawa; A granddaughter, Abbigail; As well as several nephews and nieces.
His father, Heinrich; His sister, Marlene and his brother, Ronald (3 MARCH, 2017) preceded him in the tomb.
Visits will take place at Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, (857-1901), Tuesday from noon until funeral time.
Funeral service will be held at the Chapel of Chartersville funeral home on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at 2:00 pm.
Interment will be in the cemetery of Notre-Dame du Calvaire, Dieppe.
At the Flower Places, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or Sida-Aids Moncton would be appreciated by the family.

Thanks for gathering that info and translating it, Bill.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Heard about Rudi's passing while at the LA Cubfest. Just now have computer access to express my condolences and offering prayers to his family. Many fond memories of Rudi posting his "Welcome Wagon" and the private messages that we exchanged over the years. What a great guy! What an encourager!
Rest in peace my buddy.

Just got home and read this. Very sorry to hear of Rudy's passing. He is one of the main reasons Andrew and I got into Cubs, and we thank him for all the support he gave over the years since 2007, when we made his acquaintance on this board.
