Hi everyone. I am the owner of a 1951 Super A with a C3 mower. I am the third generation to own this particular machine and while it's not as pretty as it once was, it still starts within two pulls every time! My goal is to restore it but it still gets used once a week. I'm in Arkansas if the subject of this post didn't give it away.
I don't know what I might bring to the forum but I'm happy to have found it as I probably have more questions than answers but I'm all about making an effort.
My first mission is to find the large belt size for my mower. I've looked for about a week online and HamiltonBobs tells me that the one they have is for a Cub, not the Super A.
Thank you all for having me!

The parts catalog lists belt 477178R1. The CaseIH web site crosses it to 607658R1 and to 86980546 (evidently a current number).
My old print info lists the first 2 numbers as 7/8 wide, 148-13/64 outside circumference, 17/32 depth.
Online lists the second number as 0.88 width, 148.20 long.
Sources other than CaseIH may cost less. A local auto parts store can probably get one.
You should be able to get those numbers or the dimensions crossed to the other suppliers. You want a heavy duty belt.

I could not say tractor when I was 2 years old so I called it Err Err.
I loved this tractor then and I still love it now. - Circle of Safety: Y

Thank you, Jim! I found the 607658R1 number with a little creativity. I thought there was something on the belt but couldn't make it out. As a last ditch, I used some baby powder. I sprinkled it on and then gently shook the belt. It had a few extra characters in it which slowed me down. I'm assuming they are a manufacturer code. "CNH607658R1C" is what I came up with but wasn't sure on the "C"s.
I tried my local parts stores with no luck. I'll hit them up now that I have a couple of numbers and see if I have more luck.
Thank you again!

Okay, your existing belt is 607658R1. So the other 2 numbers should also work, if you find a replacement by one of those numbers. I believe that belt is a size "C" cross section. That may be what the C on your current belt refers to.

I think C144 is the Gates part#, NAPA has them.
