New Farmall Super C Owner

Postby hodge » Wed Jun 07, 2023 1:21 pm

Good afternoon,
Small family farmer that likes the old time hardware that you can work on yourself. We just picked up a 1953 Super C with fasthitch to help us with small jobs around the farm. :tractor:

First time with Farmalls was remember helping my grandpa load firewood into the bucket to stack in the basement when I was a kid. Later my dad always let me drive the Farmall H to disc and plant the corn fields. We had an old two row planter that we used for a small field of sweet corn. Haying I was always stuck stacking bales.

Recently, we have been digging into some of the gremlins in the Super C. First one is we're having some of the charging issues and looks like we may have some rewiring coming up because there are some patch jobs. Look forward to learning.

Welcome and good to have a Super C'er....I have the same rig except a '51. 6V Generator or Alternator? Rewiring is easy (except for pulling wires through the tree)...there is like 6 or 8 wires.

Right now it has the 6v with generator. Found a couple threads here with troubleshooting info and I am going to see if its something silly easy. If not then it will probably get an alternator.
