SA->140 transmission swap
Hi all, i'm going to attempt to swap transmissions from a SA to a 140 and i'm wondering how is the best way to do it, should I break at the bell housing or transmission itself? Thanks.

Re: SA->140 transmission swap
Wedge the front axle to disable the axle pivot. Drain the transmission.
I'd start at the back. Take off the Fast-Hitch or standard drawbar as applicable. Remove the PTO if needed on the other transmission. Take off the left wheel then final drive. Get enough stuff out of the way so you can unbolt the platform and axle housing from the transmission. The right blocking under the platform and axle housing may allow you to unbolt it as an assembly. Then unbolt the transmission from the bell housing.
At least, that is how I would try to do it. Others may have a different approach.

Re: SA->140 transmission swap
Mr. Jim, I should've clarified: i'm just going to completely swap the transmission/rear end. That's why I was wondering if it would be best to break apart at the front of transmission or at the bell housing. Thanks.

Oh, swapping out the whole back end of the tractor. Behind the bell housing.
