130 sickle bar help needed
I bought a rear mount sickle bar a couple years ago, just getting to try it on the tractor
Not quite sure how it mounts, it has a short pto shaft, and looks like it mounts to both the front and rear mounts with a hook/cam bar on the top bolts.
I think I’m missing the lifting link between the rear tractor rockshaft Arm and the arm on the mower
Could someone post a sketch/ picture with dimensions ?
I was thinking of fabricating one
Does anyone have a picture to post what the mounted mower looks like?
I could try to post a picture of what my mower looks like
I tried looking in the manuals section unable to find any info
Is there an operators manual available?
Thanks
Howard

Re: 130 sickle bar help needed
My first guess is that you have an A-21 mower. A picture could confirm that. If so, the tractor's rear rockshaft is not used with the mower. There should be a long rod that connects from the left side of the front rockshaft back to the mower.
I might have some sort of picture or drawing.
Edit:
There is one on this page:

Re: 130 sickle bar help needed
The mower in the picture looks similar to mine
I do have a long rod that was unattached
What does that connect to?
The arm in the upper left of the picture ?
I do have front cultivators /side dresser on the tractor will the mower fit with those on?
Are there instructions how to resize my picture to post on iPad ?

Re: 130 sickle bar help needed
The long rod attaches the Touch-Control arm, the same place as the lift rod for the rear rockshaft. If your rear rockshaft is in place, you can move it to the inside Touch-Control arm (if needed), then connect the rod to the outer arm. The mower can be mounted with the front cultivators in place. However, you may find the cultivators to be a nuisance if they keep picking up the mown grass and dragging it along.
Maybe someone else can address your iPad question.

The long rod goes between the tire and fender
When mounting do you align the front slots with bolts then lift
And rotate the double cam bar to engage the rear upper bolts?
Thank you for your help Jim

As I recall, yes. You may have to set the tire out to have clearance.

Again to the best of my recollection, yes. You engage the front of the mower drawbar to the front studs in the final drives. Then rotate the cam bar to bring the rear of the drawbar up into place. I think you just bring the forwardmost part of the drawbar up against the studs, but not forward to the fully mounted position. Rotating the cam will first bring the rear of the drawbar up then move the entire mower forward into position for tightening the mounting nuts.

Got the pitman arm finished
Made a new wooden piece the old one was rotten & in pieces
I think Igot the length of the wooden link length close just under 36”
From putting the two pieces together
Add some mounting bolts with the chamfer - took some standard 3/4 bolts built up the shoulders & turned ‘me down on the lathe
Hoping to mount & test it out this weekend

Any markings on the old belt? You can always measure it.

Re: 130 sickle bar help needed
Depends on the drive pulley. I believe there were 2 options.

Re: 130 sickle bar help needed
no markings on the old belt - it is weathered quite a bit
I'm thinking it may be in the neighborhood of a C - 51
I will measure the drive pulley

Re: 130 sickle bar help needed
I'm still not 100% sure on what model your mower is. I'm thinking it is an A-21, or maybe an A-24. If so, the drive pulley should be 10-7/8 diameter. The part number is either M2570 or M2568. If all that matches, the belt is M32812. It is 7/8 width by 52-3/8 outside circumference.

Re: 130 sickle bar help needed
I think the correct belt is M32812 which corresponds to a C - 48 which is cross section C and 52 " long

Re: 130 sickle bar help needed
Yes, that looks like an A-21 mower. The pulley looks like M2570, number should be cast into it. 7/8 width matches a C section. That length is close enough.
