1 A-60 Grader Blade Flexible Clevis

Postby F.POLLIO » Sat Jan 30, 2021 8:32 pm

This is a photo of a flexible clevis that I made up using a Forum photo of a 1A-60 blade on a Cub that had the clevis with it. I scaled it up from the photo and am not sure how close the new measurements are to an original one. The metal is 1/2 inch thick and 2 inches wide. the hole spacing came out to 4/1/2 inches. It fits well on the lifting lever and the connecting rod. I have not tried it out yet but it is still early in the season. While I was searching the Forum for any information or photos of it, a member stated that it will affect the lifting height of the blade. It is to be used when plowing snow and was wondering if anyone has had any problems with it not lifting high enough?

I have 1 on my super a the blade comes up about 6" off the ground and when lowered the blade rides on the ground giving it flexibility to follow the ground contours i guess letting to float up and down. when the sun comes up I'll measure the bolt hole spacing for you

there is a sketch of the one for the cub under member made sketches. Could you mark it up and post a picture of the markup?

Where did you find a picture of the clevis?

The one i have is 5 1/2" long and the bolt spacing is. 3 1/2". With the blade all the way up it gives me 7" of clearance. Hopes this helps. The one i have I got came from my father-in-law and he bought the tractor in 65 with the blade attached so I gotta assume it is what came with the plow. If there is anything else i can do for you just ask. Have a good one

That is almost in line with the one for the club 5 1/4 with 3 5/8 hole spacing. They list two different part numbers for the clevis so they are different.

650 352 R92 ( a60)
and
651268r91 ( 54)

Dh, Thank you for the information. It looks like I made it an 6/1/2 long x 4/1/2hole spacing. It should work maybe only lifting the blade a little lower than the original one. It would be difficult to shorten this one and re-drill it. Much easier to start over now knowing the dimensions. There is not enough snow here today to try it out yet. To Inairam, somewhere on the site search I think I used the phrase "Flexible Clevis" or 1A-60 Blade and a thread came up with photos of a Cub with a 1A-60 blade mounted on it. Of course it was larger than the Cub blade but it had the clevis on it and it appeared to be larger than the Cub's. The drawing uses 7/16 inch thick steel which is not thick enough to attach to the arms as they are 1/2 inch thick on my attachment. They may both use similar hole spacing.

I know now that there are advantages to be a member and post questions. That modified drawing would have been very easy to work off of rather than a photo. Thank You! Who knows maybe Winter restlessness will cause me to make another one that will be like an original.

Can you look this over. Asked our engineer to draw it up.

I went online to look for the steel. the 5/16 1.5 wide does not appear to be readily available from my normal places. Do you think 1/4" thick will be ok?

How about 3/8"? Might be overkill but....

the weight of the blade is basically hanging on the welds of the clevis. There is no bending.

I do not know. It just seems every time I go bigger with the material on a project I run into some fit or clearance problem.

1/4 inch might be ok. As for the drawing looks good. Could you send it to Dennis so he can add that to the members drawings. Thank you
