Farmall a rewire

Postby Magnum » Sun Feb 07, 2021 4:52 pm

I have an A . i bought this with a 12v system which was junk, so i removed the alt and bought a 6v gen off a super A that was being parted out. So my question is will the wiring be the same on the a as it is on the cub ? The gen looks exactly the same as the cub gen .

An A would have had a cutout mounted on the generator, and the charge rate controlled by the headlight switch, But I do not know if a Super A used the same setup, or had a voltage regulator. However, the 6 volt wiring diagram for the Super A, cub, A,B, C, H, M were all the same as to the wiring, but components located in different places.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!

Yes, the connections are the same. If you go to the PDF manuals, there is a manual for installing electrical systems on an A. It has the diagram and also has illustrations of where the cables are to be routed.

Follow this path:

Thanks John for the heads up on the switch being a key part on this rewire. Looks like I'll need a few more items to properly do this.
Jim thank you for the link , but for one reason or another it does not work for me.

Are you trying to access it with a phone or a PC? Some other people have had problems using a phone.
