Rear tires

Postby M6Scout » Tue Feb 16, 2021 1:09 pm

Hi folks, :tractor:

What brand and tread pattern do you find best for your 140. I’ll be using a 2 bottom plow, brush hogging and snow plowing. Dry to wet loamy soil (no mud bogging)
I don’t feel that the offset tread pattern’s can pull like an old style tread. A tire that had strong sidewall and tread that squares off to the non bulging sidewall ie radials I believe would grab more land.

But I’m no tire expert, that’s just my sense of it.

Thank you

I would like to try out a set of these maybe someday!

If you can find firestone field and road in the size you want, they are nice. I have 8.3x24 on my cub!

Titan makes a nice tire with the long bar medium bar tread. I have these in 8x16 front and 13.6x28 rear on a Deere. These have almost 1600 hours on them!

I don't know if they are still available, but I bought 11.2 x 24 Titans with the tread pattern very similar to the Firestones Sam linked to. They are really nice tires, we put them on my wife's Leader tractor. They are not quite a 45deg. tread and have a slightly curved bar, a nice look for a vintage tractor.

I just had Galaxy Earth Pro R1 installed on my 130.
12.4-24. Lots of traction and economical.
