Help ID things on Farmall tear down

Postby RRicks1970 » Tue Jan 04, 2022 1:40 pm

I'm tearing down a 52 super a. I've never seen this notched selector plate before. Ive already removed the throttle position plate . Anyone with a clue?

And what did this gauge show? I got where the water temp, oil pressure and ammeter gauges go but this one baffles me.

Ok. I managed to ID the position selector as being a "P SECTOR, radiator shutter control". Not much call for radiator shutters in north Florida which explains why I've never seen one before. That will be going into the useless to me parts pile.

Still don't know about the gauge on top of the hydraulic controls. Unless it was to do with hydraulic fluid/pressure/temp...etc.

Shutters were often installed as part of the distillate fuel option, although also available as a separate attachment. The mystery gauge is for hydraulic fluid temperature.

So now I have to figure out where the sensor would go. My 51 didn't have a hydraulic gauge and now I want one. I would assume there is a plug in the models that didn't have a gauge?

Put your finger on the Touch-Control filler plug. Slide it down until it is near the bottom of the Touch-Control block. You will find a plate held with 4 bolts. The sender is in the middle of the plate,
