Old super a

Postby Ang » Thu Jan 19, 2023 1:08 pm

So I bought I believe a 53 super a twenty years ago when bought it had been used hard! Looking for someone in western n.y. to rebuild restore it. I know of nobody! I'm not really mechanically inclined or interested in doing it myself honestly looking for turn key job. Will use for wood cutting so its not a show tractor but its a worker that needs to be restored. If anyone know someone I'd appreciate it if you shared it, thanks!

Before you take the next steps, I suggest that you solidify in your mind what you mean by “restore”. Are you thinking a total mechanical rebuild followed by a quality paint job, or are you thinking merely a mechanical refresh to get it to the point of usefulness and reliability. Make a list, so that you will be able to accurately communicate your wishes when you find someone to work on it. Also, you may need to be prepared to travel to get to such a person.

I would want the engine rebuilt, transmission if needed, clutch, starting and recharging system cooling system, paint, change all oils. I know its a big job it needs a lot of work! I appreciate the tractor and could buy one certainly for what I'll put into it but sometimes older is better and lasts longer. Hopeing to find right person!

There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.
