I've assembled what I think I need to use a snow plow on my early A. The hand lift is on the left with two helper springs. They feel pretty strong but I won't know if it's enough to counter the weight of the plow till I get it all together.
The A's plow is certainly heavier than a Cubs plow.
There is a mount for another spring on the hand lift if two aren't enough.
Hopefully I'll have it together for next winter.

Depending in how low you make the tractor I'd think shortening the mounts would be easier than getting a lift together.
I actually have a plan B in my back pocket.
I have a small electric winch from harbor freight. Is has power up / down and is similar to the one my buddy uses the raise and lower the blade on his quad.
My first choice is to put something together as it would have been done back in the day.

It has the A's grunt without having that high platform to boost yourself into.
The second is fun and cool but the first may actually be an improvement, at least for the needs of some of us. Sometimes after a day of climbing on and off the A my joints really feel it. If you don't farm with it, only towing, mowing, or pushing snow well lower is better.
I guess as the real Lo-Boy has a plow set up a plow mount setup could be modified so that this could do snow duty.
I'd have to go one step further on his build though and that's to install a lowered exhaust.

Agreed 100% Mike.
