Might be on the look out this coming spring for a Farmall Super C or a 200 to use around the farm for light chores and just a handy little gas tractor.
When looking, what are some things to keep an eye out for? What is the touch hydraulics and how and for what are they used? I thought a fast hitch might be nice and maybe later add a 2 bottom plow and disc, maybe more.
How is the parts situation? Can a narrow front end be swapped out for the wide front? Can the fast hitch be adapted to a 3 pt hitch? How wide pull behind bush hog can one of these tractors handle for trimming around the barn, orchards and field edges?
What am I looking for in a Farmall Super C or 200 prior to purchase.
Any sage advice is much appreciated.
Thanks!

Re: Shopping Super C - What to Look Out For?
I have a SC and it is still my favorite. Good enough power for a 5 ft brush cutter tow behind. I have a FH and don't really care for it. I made an adapter so I can use conventional implements. I have the factory snow plow and it is pretty rare complete, and while it looks mechanically like an erector set, it works great!
A SC with a FH has 2 touch control rockshafts (arms) that you can hook up to just below the gas tank. When I use the FH, one of the arms is used to change the left to right angle out back by using a long double Z shaped connector that goes from the arm, under the operator deck and connects under the platform. The other arm is hooked up the a connecting rod/pipe that controls the pitch of the implement in the back.A FH will have another hydraulic control lever that usually controls the cylinder in the back that does the vertical lifting of the FH.
The motors run sweet and are very dependable.
When buying any tractor....It is pretty obvious, but make sure it shifts smoothly and there are no transmission sounds, the clutch works well (a PITA to split), block cracks (make sure to pull the hood to check) and there are no big leaks. They have disc brakes so if they need to be replaced they can be over $100 for the 4 discs.

I will eventually find a 2 point sickle mower for edges...I had one, rehabbed it and got aggrevated with it because I didn't know about setting it up correctly...and I have been kicking myself ever since.

Keep a good eye on the rear tires on the tractors you compare.
Those tires are tall and cost waaaay more than tires for a Cub, super A, B, BN!
If you find 2 comparable tractors, but one has newer or better tires, pay a little extra if needed and get the one with good tires!
Just look at what happened on this C I brought home after trying to air one up.
