I'm replacing the rings and having the head and valves done on my Farmall C (SN 12096). Does anyone know what the head bolts should be torqued to, and sequence? Thanks Corlis

I believe IH updated the spec to 80 ft lbs. Correct me if I am wrong.

I also found the information in my I&T Shop and Service manual that I have for my 200. While my 200 has a C123 engine instead of a C113 that my C has, I believe the heads are the same, and use the same head gasket. It states in this manual that heads should be torqued to 65 ft-lb on serial numbers prior to 65001, and 80-90 ft-lb on engines after 65000. Which makes me think they may have changed something in manufacturing??? It looks like the newer heads have a 14 stud design and the older ones have 9 studs, both for the C123 engine. So a change was made with different torque specs I guess.

Head gaskets are slightly different for the C-113 vs the C-123. Has to do with the water passage size and water pump.
