USS Hornet discovered

17,000 feet is a looooooooong way down! It's truly remarkable how well things are preserved at that depth.

They found the Wasp last year too. She took 3 torpedos in September of '42. The Japanese fired 6 at her, one of the ones that missed managed to hit USS NC and blew a hole in her on the port side close to turret 1. She made it back to Pearl Harbor and was back in the fight a few months later.
