Belt for Woods L306 on a F300

Postby ShawnAgne » Fri Jul 15, 2022 9:58 pm

I'm using 3 separate belts on my L306. Did the L306 originally use a single belt like the L59? IF it did how long would it need to be? Reason I ask is I need to replace the 170" belt going from the fly wheel to the center spindle and the outer belts are starting to get a little lose.

Thanks in advance,
Shawn Agne

my L306 on a 140 uses a single belt, in fact I just had to change it yesterday! I bought my belt in 2017 I think, from Vbelt guys. It lasted this long and was only like $12. I googled woods L306 on a farmall 140 and they came up. I also found the same belt for over $50. I had bought a spare belt back then. I see they are now a little over $13. I had some trouble figuring how to get it routed right, but the solution was in the twists. my belt is 243 inches outside, 240 inside. you have a different tractor so you will most likely have a different length. Good Luck!

better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it...( YES this includes CUBS! )

The L306 I had on my B had a single belt. According to the manual (screenshots below), you may need a belt with a length of 270", 280", or 285". You can confirm desired length by routing a good, non-stretching rope around the pulleys and measuring the resulting length. Note that you can make major length adjustments by choosing different holes at the rear of the attachment brackets, moving the deck forward or backward. Minor adjustments and final tension are set by sliding the idlers. You can search the part numbers in the form of "XXXXX woods belt" and will get hits for each part number.

My video of the L306 on my B depicting the belt routing is here:
