H help please
just bought a 1950 h and I am wanting to replace the sediment bowl to just brass fittings and a shut off and in line filter. Well I went out and bought 3/8 fittings but it seems small to screw in the fuel tank and 1/4 is a tiny bit to big for the carburetor. im just stuck on sizes and am sizes and have been fooling all day with something that should be easy!

Plumbing fittings will not work. The original fittings are 1/2-20. Why do you want to eliminate the sediment bowl?

I'm curious too. A sediment bowl is about the best there is for a gravity flow fuel system.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Well the bowl was leaking and I had heard the inline was actually better at filtering then the old bowl. I just bought the tractor for the wagon train here and toys for tots run and other parades and festivals

Re: H help please
Take your plumbing fittings back to the hardware store. Go to NAPA or any good auto parts store and get a new gasket for the sediment bowl. Shut off the fuel, remove the bowl, clean it out, clean the screen (if present), install the screen, then gasket, then bowl and turn the fuel back on. If the leak is at the fuel shutoff, tighten the packing nut slightly.
