Hi All...
Sadly, a longtime neighbor passed and his widow is trying to sell his tractor...the info provided
to me is: Model H-FBH Serial 266533x1
The tractor was purchased NEW by the family (prior generation) in Kentucky and then brought to GA in the 1980s to this next generation in the family.
It runs, has always been barn kept, original paint in good condition, all decals and emblems appear to be intact and in place and no noticeable rust from what I remember when seeing it in person last January. I should have a picture of the tractor to add to this post tomorr.
As a family friend, I am concerned the widow is being taken advantage of...a local equipment trader is saying its only worth $1,000.00 and I think that's questionable.
Based on the above conditions...any ballpark values that can be shared?
The tractor is in Athens, GA.
Thanks,
EdinCincinnati

Re: Estimation of Value for Model H
My Cub experience is only with the Lo Boy...the H is completely foreign to me by the way.

Re: Estimation of Value for Model H
Ed, I bought a fairly decent H about three years ago for $1400.00 in Walton
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Re: Estimation of Value for Model H
In my area, eastern Mo., Farmall H is a very common tractor, and in the condition you describe, 1200 to 1500 would be top price.

Re: Estimation of Value for Model H
Remember that the trader will resell the H and want to make a profit. An ad on Craigslist or in a farm paper may generate a higher sale price.

Condition of the tires is big factor in value.

Re: Estimation of Value for Model H
Agree with previously estimated value of the tractor.
Neighbor lady needs to make sure the tractor starts and operates as it should when showing to potential buyers. No start for any reason, significant loss in value.

I have an excuse. CRS.

Re: Estimation of Value for Model H
I'm gonna have to agree with everyone else, $1,200 to $1,500 depending on condition of tires. An H isn't a highly desirable model.

Where I live , $ 12-1500.00 would be a very close estimate .

Re: Estimation of Value for Model H
If the tractor is indeed wearing original paint and that paint is in good shape, it 'could' be worth a lot more. This one went for an insane $40K: http://antiquetractorblog.com/2015/11/20/whats-so-special-about-the-40-k-farmall-h/
