How do you pull dash to replace gauge on 300 or should I?

Postby ShawnAgne » Sat Oct 14, 2017 7:24 pm

I have the alternator hooked up for the 12V conversion. All I need to do is rest the wiring. Should I replace the Voltmeter with an Ammeter? If so what is the best way to pull the dash to do this?

EDIT: I just realized the D-O-C gauge is a ammeter so I think I just saved myself some work.

Also the tractor has the original wiring on it. I have the Ammeter hooked up to the grey cable and I'm going to run that back as it looks like it goes to the ignition, I'll just splice it together and skip the voltage regulator. The second cable that was hooked onto the generator do I need to use it for anything?

Thanks in advance.

The one problem you may run into is the original ammeter only read either 30 or 30 amps maximum. The alternator will put out more than that if the battery is real low.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!
