Serial# and dealership 1st sold from ?
I have no history of the Farmall H I bought at a local auction. The only info the auction house would give me was that they purchased it from an estate sale. Is there such a thing as a data base you can enter the serial# and find out the dealership it first sold from ? I've googled it several times and no luck, so I may already know my answer. I'm not going to use it as a work tractor. Hopefully a couple local parades and shows. I'm just one of many who grew up as a farm kid. Was working the fields on a Super H all day, by myself by the age of 11. So this is a tribute to the past, and memory lane purchase for me. This old 1940 H is like an old friend I didn't meet till recently. Just trying to find out a little history of it's 79 years of mechanical life.
Thanks
Tim
Thanks

IH never kept any of the records telling where a particular tractor was sold.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Thanks Barnyard, thats what I thought. ajhbike, have belonged to motorcycle forums for many years. Ran out of patience trying to post a pic years ago and never tried again. I saw a post a pic section as I was checking out this forum. Will research, and try again. Your right, I won't know it's history, but at 79, I can at least introduce it to everyone.

She's a real beauty! Another way to post a pic is to open it in Paint and resize it, save it and voila

Re: Serial# and dealership 1st sold from ?
Thanks ajhbike, a good wash down and about 20 coats of wax on the grill, hood, and gas tank brought the shine factor up a few notches. Looks like some one repainted it many years ago, then at a later date took the parts I've been waxing down to bare metal, primed and painted. PM's have been long neglected. Engine oil, filter, and transmission gear lube was just horrible. Built a tool from a piece of three foot half inch flat iron to scrape about a gallon of old gear lube jelly out of transmission. Good news, no water. I take it that Paint is another photo editor? If it works with a Mac I'll check it out. Thanks for the added info.
